Our Ministry

We serve in Fraga, Spain with Tentmaker’s Bible Mission as the North Spain Project. Fraga and its surrounding villages previously had no evangelical church reaching the Spanish people. The people of Spain are hurting in broken relationships and lost without meaning in a life of sin. But God can heal their hearts and give them eternal purpose through the life-giving power of Jesus. If you’re interested in joining our team, visit our TBM page. We would love to connect with you and share more about our ministry! You can reach out to us by email at ramirezinspain@gmail.com

Vision and Strategy

Our vision is to share the hope and purpose found in Jesus Christ, plant gospel-driven, Bible-believing churches, and disciple eternity-focused believers in north Spain.

Spain’s main spiritual challenges are false spirituality and atheism. People struggle to see their need for a relationship with Christ. While many in Spain follow religious traditions, very few understand the gospel. Only 1% of the country claims to be evangelical Christian. There is a growing population of Muslims (4%) that largely have not heard the gospel.

We desire to start a network of church planting where there is little or no gospel witness. Our strategy is to begin by establishing relationships in a community through volunteering alongside locals, teaching English classes, and participating in community events. Through these relationships, we begin an in-house study, in the style of “Discovery Bible Studies.” This encourages all involved to understand and apply the Word of God to their own life, and provides them opportunity to understand and embrace the good news of Jesus Christ. Discovery Bible Studies encourage participants to ask questions and share what they’ve learned with others in their sphere of influence, encouraging growth. This method removes the figure of a “teacher” or “broker of knowledge” and brings the Word of God and prayer to the center.

The structure relies on the Holy Spirit’s illumination of the Word of God to the individual and is simple enough that anyone can moderate a Bible Study. This simplicity means that we can seek and disciple believers who show leadership ability. As the Bible study grows and forms a church body, we will seek to train local leaders within the congregation so that the church may be self-sufficient.

After leaders are trained and established, we are free to repeat the process in surrounding villages, while being able to provide mentorship to the recently established church. These church plants should have in their DNA the desire to begin and support new works, thus easing our need for foreign funding.
